Waiapu Kids Te Hapara Whānau Aroha is a nurturing early learning centre grounded in respectful, bi-cultural child-led learning. Our environment encourages curiosity, creativity and connection – where tamariki and whānau flourish together, all underpinned by our vision of te oranga ake – flourishing together.
As a Whānau Aroha centre, we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that prioritises self-determination, early intervention, and holistic support for our tamariki and their whānau.
We currently have two ECE Teaching Assistant positions available:
- Full-time 37.5 hours per week and;
- Part-time 25 hours per week
We’re looking for people who are:
- Passionate about creating inspiring learning spaces for tamariki to grow
- Willing to learn and are keen to build a career in early childhood education
- Abe to build strong and lasting relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community

To be successful you will:
- Enjoy assisting with planning and implementing a child-led, play based curriculum
- Thrive in a team environment where innovation, connection and equity are encouraged
- Be committed to Te Tiriti based practice, Te Reo and Tikanga Māori or a willingness to grow in this space
- Be willing to learn Te Whāriki and build strong teaching practice qualities for children’s learning.

Waiapu Kids Te Hapara Whānau Aroha is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) – the social services arm of Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people families/whānau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua. The successful applicant will foster an environment that reflects the values and purpose of ACW.
