Mō te tūranga | About the role

Growing Through Grief (GTG) is a service that offers programmes for children, young people and adults who are experiencing change, loss and grief in their lives. We aim to strengthen social and emotional wellbeing where tamariki and whānau flourish together, underpinned by our vision of te oranga ake – flourishing together.

As the GTG Coordinator, you’ll respond to community needs and support people to thrive. You’ll be supported by the GTG Manager and a collaborative team of Coordinators working across our seven other locations.

This is a permanent part-time role working 30 hours per week based in Taupō and supporting the Taupō and Rotorua communities.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a natural ability for coordinating, planning and facilitating programmes
  • Can lead a team of volunteers to deliver programmes
  • Enjoys building and maintaining networks with schools and other agencies
  • Brings genuine passion for working alongside tamariki, whānau, and communities
  • Can confidently manage day to day administrative tasks including reporting, enrolments, databases etc

To be successful you will have:

  • Experience in group facilitation and leading a team of volunteers
  • Experience in identifying community needs and fostering meaningful and trusted networks
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage many competing priorities
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to pitch in a help where needed
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti based practice, Te Reo and Tikanga Māori or a willingness to grow in this space

Growing Through Grief is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) – the social services arm of Anglican Diocese of Waiapu.  ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people whānau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua. The successful applicant will foster an environment that reflects the values and mission of ACW.
