Waiapu Kids Merivale Whānau Aroha Centre is a nurturing early learning centre grounded in respectful, bi-cultural child-led learning. As a Whānau Aroha centre, we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that prioritises self-determination, early intervention, and holistic support for our tamariki and their whānau.
We are looking for an energetic and experienced ECE Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis working 30 hours per week.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about creating inspiring learning spaces for tamariki to grow
- Has strengths in creating thoughtful individual learning plans
- Can build strong and lasting relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community
- Has a deep grounding in Te Ao Māori who can uphold tikanga and reflect Māori cultural values in their mahi

Nga Pukenga me te Wheako |Skills and Experience
To be successful you will have:
- Full NZ teacher registration and a recognised ECE qualification
- Confidence in planning and implementing a child-led, play based curriculum
- Thrives in a team environment where innovation, connection and equity are encouraged
- Commitment to Te Tiriti based practice, Te Reo and Tikanga Māori or a willingness to grow in this space
- Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and the ability to plan and assess for children’s learning. Strong teaching practice.

Waiapu Kids Merivale Whānau Aroha is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) – the social services arm of Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people families/whānau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua. The successful applicant will foster an environment that reflects the values and purpose of ACW.
