Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW), is the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. Our Early Childcare Education Centres – Waiapu Kids are located across eight locations in Rotorua, Tauranga, Whakatane, Tairāwhiti, Hastings and Waipawa. Our centres offer safe, nurturing, and educational environments for children and whānau to thrive.

We are looking for energetic casual ECE Teaching Assistants  to join our experienced teams in our Waipau Kids Centres across all our locations. We are searching for enthusiastic people who enjoy spending time with children to provide cover when staff are on leave. These are casual on-call positions with no set hours and may suit students or people who are unable to commit to regular hours. Where centres are located close to each other there is the opportunity to work in more than one centre.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

We are well-established community based Early Childhood Education Centres, offering high quality education and care for tamariki aged 6 months to 6 years in safe and compassionate play based, environments. Each centre differs as they respond to the needs and aspirations of their local community.

You will be assisting the team in the day-to-day education, well-being, and health and safety of children attending our centre; ensuring provision of education and care to service standards. You will also demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi and bi-cultural practice.

You will have a strong values base and conduct yourself with integrity, professionalism, and care.

You must embody openness, authenticity, and understanding to effectively connect with our children and community. Your superpower will be the ability to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of children throughout the day while keeping your cool. Love is a prerequisite, as you’ll need to generously share it and be ready to receive an abundance in return.

It is important that you enjoy spending time with children, some experience of working with them is an advantage. You must be open to learning and direction so that you can develop an understanding of what is expected at the different sites. You will encounter a supportive and environment where we look forward to welcoming you to become part of our team. Most importantly, be prepared to share in laughter and fun.
